Charles Epp - Vigilant Data Protection, Inc.

1 Jul 2009

Charles Epp is a native Texan and grew up in Lytle. His mother was an elementary teacher and his father works in the aircraft industry for Pratt & Whitney. He has one brother. He has lived in Lytle, San Antonio, Dallas and Boerne. He studied computer science at UTSA. (I didn’t graduate)

Charles and his wife Josha moved to Boerne, Texas in 1998 and have settled into the country life. They have 2 boys; Kenny 13, and Matt 10. They are all involved in the Boy Scouts and Cub Scouts. Josha is a Den Mom and Charles is a Cubmaster and assistant Scoutmaster. Most of their extra time is involved with Scouting. They love to go camping, fishing and “herding wild boys”! Where else can you be a 12 year old once a month?

The family attends CBC in Boerne which is a multi-site of CBC on Loop1604. They are involved in Angel Food, a food co-op which they both find very rewarding. Charles likes the aspect of visiting with the seniors he delivers food to.

Charles started his business, Vigilant Data Protection, Inc. about 3 years ago. His company provides computer back-up service for small businesses. After a somewhat slow start, he says business is picking up – online backup is now seen as a viable alternative to traditional methods.

The last book Charles read was “Washington’s God” by Michael Novak. It tells about the spiritual life of George Washington. It is striking that Washington voluntarily relinquished executive power as no one had ever done, thereby setting the tone for our system of government to this day.

Charles was a member of CBCC a few years ago and has recently returned. He really enjoys the meetings and the slightly different format from previous years.
